The Wally brand has announced the launching of Wallycento, a 30.48-metre Tango superyacht.

Tango was built by Persico Marine, which specializes in large composite yachts. Persico Marine have been involved in the construction of America's Cup and Volvo Ocean Race cars, and this is the first time they have built a custom cruising yacht.

«We are very pleased with our first superyacht cruiser project," says Marcello Persico. - The Tango weighs only 47.5 tons thanks to the optimisation we carried out at the beginning of the project. We've done a lot of work to lighten the interior, not only using carbon fibre and Nomex sandwich for the joinery, but also applying special techniques for the door hinges and the plywood panelling».
«Tango turned out exactly as we planned: ultra-smooth lines and an aggressive overall look that conveys its high-performance DNA»," said Luca Bassani, president of Wally.

Tango's naval architecture was designed by Mark Mills. He has shifted the plunging volume of the hull more towards the bow than in the previous Wallycento. The stern line was cleaner and more elongated.

The idea was to create a boat with minimal displacement and, conversely, to increase the sail area to the maximum within the class rules.

Such a combination will be an advantage in the weak winds typical of the Mediterranean.

The layout of Tango's interior features a saloon at the rear, the engine room and service section at midships and the guest cabins in the bow.

The modern interior design is by the Pininfarina studio. Their main concern was to find the perfect balance between performance and comfort. Thanks to the use of modern materials and innovative solutions they succeeded: the yacht is suitable both for racing and for long cruises.

Tango will make her regatta debut at Les Voiles De Saint Tropez, where she will prove her superiority to other Wallycento yachts, such as Galateia, Magic Carpet 3 and Open Season.

The racing cruiser will have its world premiere at the Monaco Boat Show.
