The navigable arch of the Crimean Bridge welcomed its first-ever yachtsmen. More than 20 cruising sailing boats accompanied by kite-surfers and windsurfers walked along the Kerch Strait, where this giant technological structure was installed only at the end of August.

The landmark event became «cherry on the cake» for the third annual festival of water sports, dedicated to the construction of the legendary bridge, designed to connect the Crimea and mainland Russia.

This time a record number of participants gathered at the event: only yachtsmen gathered over 200 people. And you bet!

At the first two festivals the boats passed by preparatory sites and incomplete piers of the future bridge. This year it was much more picturesque and exciting.

Just think about it: the 227-meter long stretch of railway bordered by a snow-white arc rises 35 meters above the water.

It is not surprising that extreme sportsmen from all over Russia did not lazy to come to the event.

Unfortunately, the weather did not let the sails unfurl on the yachts, but the participants and spectators alike were pleased with the spectacle.

One of the yachtsmen of the regatta «Crimean Bridge» Anton Gumenny commented on the event as follows:

«In recent history, this is probably one of the first events in which the elements, sailing and technological design are linked together».

Having started in Sevastopol the boats in the framework of the regatta will cover 300 miles along the Crimean coast and tomorrow they will finish in Gelendzhik.
