A fire broke out at the Forum port in Barcelona on the morning of 9 April.
The fire broke out on one of the moored yachts and quickly spread to neighboring yachts. After firefighters managed to put out the flames, a new fire broke out in the marina. The reasons for the blaze are still unknown.
According to the Spanish media, the fire damaged a total of 10 yachts ranging in size from 19 to 23 meters.
Fifteen crews extinguished the fire. One person was sent to hospital with symptoms of light poisoning by combustion products, other victims are not reported.
The last time a fire of comparable size broke out in Abu Dhabi, it destroyed eight boats at a local yacht club.
