St. Petersburg will host the World Match Racing Tour

The fourth stage of the prestigious international World Match Racing Tour, which has the status of the world championship in the M32 class, will be held in St. Petersburg. The competition will be held in the city center near the walls of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

A racing village will be organized on the beach near the Peter and Paul Fortress where M32 catamarans will return each day after the race. Thus fans will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the boats and have a direct conversation with the athletes.

The New Zealander's crew, China One Ningbo, tops the World Match Racing Tour standings.

The Saint Petersburg Yacht Club Gazprom Team Russia will take part in the competition. The entire Russian crew will participate in World Match Racing Tour.

The skipper of Gazprom Team Russia is Victor Serezhkin, the crew includes Egor Terpigorev, Pavel Karachov and Alexey Kulakov. The Russian crew has already tried its hand in two qualifying stages of the Tour - in Perth, Australia and Miami. In Perth Gazprom Team Russia gained four victories, taking the sixth place out of ten possible. In Miami the team also won four duels, ending up eighth. Prior to St. Petersburg stage Gazprom Team Russia will compete in Marstrand, Sweden on July 12-16. The contest in Marstrand, as well as races in St. Petersburg, has a status of the world championship.

Match Cup Russia will be held from 1st to 6th of August. Qualifying races of the stage will be held on July 28-30 in the Saint-Petersburg Yacht Club water area.
