Exclusiva Design and Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts, two companies renowned for their bespoke projects, have teamed up to create a new star on the shipbuilding scene, the 72-metre Bolide.

The boat, named after the meteor that spreads its tail across the night sky, was presented at the exhibition of mega-yachts in Monaco. For Exclusiva Design it is the first interior design of a yacht and until then the company was known only for expensive interior works for big private houses and estates. In St Petersburg in particular they have been entrusted with the creation of the public spaces in the Lakhta Centre, Gazprom's famous public and business complex.

The designers, who have never before worked on a yacht project, have created a unique vessel in a futuristic style that goes beyond the traditional concept of yacht design.

Bolide is designed around three key concepts. The first of them is expressed in the generous glazing of 500 square meters. This will ensure fantastic views of the sea for owner and guests everywhere.

The second idea is to provide well-thought-out functionality on board with the main emphasis on comfort. To this end the designers have used various innovative solutions, such as an ultramodern cinema inside the saloon or a swimming pool convertible into a party area.

The third key point is the harmony between the exterior and the interior. The 600 square metres of outdoor deck space flows seamlessly into the 900 square metres of interiors designed by the same designers. Even the garages, which contain two 7m tenders, a rescue boat and various water toys are elegantly integrated and hidden behind glass panels.

In addition to the 5 luxury guest cabins, the boat has an owner's suite. In this case, they are a two-storey penthouse with a private gym, spa and terrace with a Jacuzzi.

Two Cat 3516 B DITA-SCAC HD 2000 kW engines will give the 72 m yacht a top speed of 18 knots and at a cruising speed of 12.5 knots the boat will be able to travel 6000 miles on a single tank.

Tankoa Yachts also unveiled a design for an unusual hybrid-powered boat, the S502 Elettra, due for completion by 2019, and revealed details of a 70-metre S701which will premiere in Monaco in a year's time.
