Entries for the National Sailing Award are now open «Yachtsman of the Year». Applications will be accepted till November, 1. The nomination form can be filled in on the website of the All-Russian Sailing Federation by clicking here. The awarding ceremony will take place on December 5, 2013 in the Moscow party hall «Izvestia Hall» on Tverskoy Boulevard.
The prize «Yachtsman of the Year» has been awarded annually since 2009. To become its nominee you have to prove yourself in the country's sailing life: in competitions, organizing regattas, managing a yacht club, judging, journalism, etc. Traditionally the prize is awarded in 12 nominations.
In different years the award was given to three-time Olympic champion Valentin Mankin, European and world champion Ekaterina Skudina, sportsmen and businessmen Vladimir Lubomirov and Valentin Zavadnikov and many others.
The award is organized by the WFSU and the magazine Yacht Russia.
