RoyalHuisman Shipyard has signed a contract to build a yacht over 55 metres for an experienced owner. Codenamed Phi, the project has been developed by a stellar team of designers and architects. Dutch Van Oossanen is responsible for the naval architecture , the exterior styling is by Cor D. Rover while the interior design is by Lawson Robb of London.

The Fast Displacement XL hull® allowed not to inflate the internal volume of the vessel: with the size greater than 55 meters, the boat falls into the category below 500 BRT.

She has been designed according to the laws of divine proportion, or the golden ratio.

This is reflected in the name of the project. Mathematicians consider Phi to be the most beautiful number in the Universe as all living beings correspond to the physical proportions approximately equal to the square root of the Phi to one.

«Royal Huisman is proud to build this exceptional motor yacht. She combines high performance with a design that is sure to excite the eye, not only with her radical looks but also with her well thought-out interior, extensive use of future technologies, unrivalled guest accommodations and supreme comfort levels», according to a press release from the yard.

Details are still limited, but it is known that the Fast Displacement-type hull has been optimized for a maximum speed of 22 knots and that the yacht will be equipped with a gyrostabilizer system.

Project Phi fully reflects Royal Huisman's credo - «if you can imagine it, we can build it». The yard plans to have what the project owner has imagined built by 2021.
