The wind was even worse on Lanzarote on Friday than the day before. « Carrot» (red and white triangular flag of postponed race) hung on the judging boat for more than two hours. In the afternoon, it was barely possible to set the course and give the start, but it was too early to rejoice. Hardly had the fleet reached the first mark, the wind died completely and the judges decided to abort the race. The biggest disappointment for Russian teams «Synergy» and «Nika» were first and second respectively.
Then teams spent almost an hour in the water area without doing anything, and finally, in the evening, the judges managed to find the wind (it turned out that not in the sea, but almost under the shore) and hold one full race.
The luckiest on this day was «Armadillo» by Vladimir Lubomirov: the team was first at the finish of the only race. However, two first places out of three races at this stage allows us to speak not only about luck, but about a clear trend.
Following the results of two racing days, two Russian crews, «Armadillo» and Kirill Podolsky's Gazprom Youth Challenge, took the first lines of the table, which can't but rejoice.
