The flagship 42.8-metre yacht Audace from Cantiere delle Marche shipyard has touched the water. The event took place in Ancona, a port city off the coast of the Adriatic Sea (Italy).
«The five-deck Audace, which translates as», was entirely custom-built. The owner wanted a boat that he could spend 365 days a year onboard.
Audace, formerly known as Project K42, is the first custom Explorer from CdM.
«Audace is a very good proof of CdM's technical and organizational capabilities. Executing a custom one-off project was the challenge that we found ourselves ready to take on. Many new projects are still under development»," saysEnnio Cecchini, co-founder and CEO of CdM.
The layout can accommodate up to 10 guests. The four guest cabins will be located on lower and main deck. Two on the lower deck are with balconies and two on the main deck with direct access to the side aisles. In turn, the master suites are located on the upper deck. The crew consists of a crew of a maximum of nine.
As the client wanted, the boat got two discos to dance the night away. Two chefs will feed the large group, and they will have a fully equipped galley.
The bulk of the water toys are stored on the forward deck. Also parked here «are a Land Rover Defender SUV» and a BMW motorcycle, a tender for the crew. The second tender, a larger one, is located aft on the main deck. It is launched with a 2.7 metre crane.
The engine room and fuel tanks, holding 62,000 litres of fuel, are located on a separate technical deck «» . Audace is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert SWAC EPA T3 engines. At 10 knots the boat is capable of 5,400 nautical miles.
Floating Life, represented by Andrea Pezzini andMauro Sculli of Studio Sculli, were responsible for the design and naval architecture of Audace. Design and development were the responsibility of HydroTec and Sergio Cutolo personally.
Domenico Ranieri acted as project manager, while Pezzini was appointed to represent the client.
