Jeanneau sales director Antoine Chancelier presented journalists with the concept of the new «monocat» - a hybrid of catamaran and monohull that splits in the stern of the hull. The project is named Sun Loft.

Unfortunately, there isn't much information about the boat until the official presentation scheduled for April 25th. The yard is saving the details for the International Multihull Boat Show in La Grande-Motte. What is known is that Jeanneau has invited Philippe Briand to design the monocat, with whom 45 models have been created since 1977, including the first boat in the Sun Fast range and most of the boats in the Sun Odyssey series.

According to insiders interviewed by International Boat Industry after the press conference , the inspiration for Sun Loft was the not-so-successful Dufour Atoll 43 monohull.

It was also designed by Briand in 1998. The boat's main feature was a very spacious control room.
