A new restriction comes into force in the United Arab Emirates: boats without engines will not be allowed to navigate in Dubai's territorial waters after sunset. All sailing and rowing vessels will fall under the ban.
Reportedly, «curfew» is being implemented to improve safety on the water. For the same purpose, Dubai Maritime City Authority will require all sailors and passengers of watercraft to wear life jackets, the release said.
Such measures are supported by the government and are in line with the global objective of making Dubai a leading maritime tourism destination.
