The main work on the 43.3-metre Baltic 142 Custom Canova from the Finnish shipyard Baltic Yachts has been completed. The world's first foiling-equipped sailing superyacht was launched on May 13th.

The innovative foiling system was developed by the yard in cooperation with GordonKay from Infiniti Performance Yachts. Also involved were «America's Cup Engineers» from BAR Technologies who are currently working with INEOS, the British team in the 36th America's Cup.

The use of retractable nine-metre foils is expected to increase the maximum speed of the boat by 5-20%, depending on conditions, and accelerate it to true wind speed.

In addition to the launching photo the yard also published a video of the installation process of the retractable keel on the boat.

Judging by the yard's configuration, up to 14 guests will be accommodated in seven cabins. It is known that the owner and guests are accommodated in three cabins: a large master cabin amidships, a VIP cabin and a simple guest cabin.

All interiors were designed by Baltic Yachts together with Micheletti & Partner.
