It's been a long time since Wally delighted us with its brutal, futuristic megayachts. The Ferretti Group's purchase in 2019 has given the company a new impetus for development. We saw the first result of this development in the large boat segment at the Monaco show, where the Ferretti Group and Wally unveiled the concept for a 50-metre high-speed open yacht for the Mediterranean , the 165 Wallypower. The project was developed by Espen Øino andLuca Bassani, a unique tandem of designers who have never worked together before.

«The Ferretti Group has made the impossible possible: two geniuses of yacht design working on the same project. Espen and Luca are both outstanding innovators who have both made significant contributions to yacht design. Now together they will shake up the market with the launch of an extraordinary new boat, the 165 Wallypower»," said CEO of the Ferretti Group, Alberto Galassi, during the presentation.

Another reason to be hopeful about the 165 Wallypower is the stagnation that has persisted for years in the fast open top speed segment.

«» Owners want a modern, medium-sized Mediterranean cruising superyacht that is fast and comfortable moving between glamorous resorts," says the Ferretti Group.

The diesel engines, combined with water jets, will propel the 165 Wallypower in a planing hull up to 30 knots, making her ideal for quick trips between Monaco and Saint-Tropez or cruises around Sardinia .

This is the first superyacht to be created by Wally since its merger with the Ferretti Group. The inspiration for her exterior design is the bold styling of the 118 Wallypower, once by Luca Bassani. The result is a unique open-top, warm-water yacht whose exterior profile combines clean lines and open decks with a harshness and angularity.

With her intelligent approach to design and naval architecture, 165 Wallypower boasts generous interior and exterior deck space. The designers have stayed true to the tradition of minimizing the amount of railings and deck equipment on the Wallypower, with glass replacing impenetrable materials in all dividers where possible. The capacity of this 50m yacht is technically 499GT.

Even inside the cabins the guests will have the feeling of outdoors living with natural daylight and they will never forget their close proximity to the water. The yacht will have a spacious saloon with twin folding balconies at its center. It has been positioned amidships on the main deck. Beside the pool and the sun loungers at the stern, an open air dining table will be installed.

A U-shaped settee in the swim-up area by the water will offer spots to enjoy the sun. Two side by side stairs will lead from the main deck to this area. The sideboard sections will be foldable on both sides to make the beach club area larger than needed.

The 165 Wallypower will boast a large 15m long sundeck. Such size of the upper deck is not typical at all for a boat of this type.

There is enough space for a central under-roof U-shaped bar, a large sofa and a sunbathing area for the guests to sit and enjoy the view.

Sleeping accommodations will comprise five bedrooms, each with an owner's suite on the main deck and four guest cabins on the lower deck. The forward portion of the lower deck will be dedicated to the crew area with five sleeping cabins, stateroom, galley, laundry and pantry.

The garage for the tender will be hidden in the forward part of the main deck, above the forward crew quarters.
