Wanting to build boats over 40 metres but lacking the technical capacity to do so, the UK's Sunseeker found the only way out - enlisting the help of ICON Yachts from the Netherlands. Having found an important partner, the superyacht division of the shipyard has turned plans into action for the construction of the 49-metre flagship Sunseeker 161.

The first hull of the Sunseeker 161 has found an owner. It will be delivered in September 2022.

The birthplace of the first aluminium Sunseeker will be the Dutch Harlingen.

The shipyard already has potential customers for two more Sunseeker 161 hulls and is awaiting final legal clearance for these deals.

The three-deck 500 BRT superyacht has a distinctive design. The naval architecture is by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, the interiors are by Design Unlimited and the exteriors are the work of Sunseeker's own designers.

The interiors can be fully customized thanks to Sunseeker's Bespoke customization program.

The standard layout provides accommodation for 10 guests in five cabins, however, if desired, the number of cabins can be increased to six.

Other interesting features of the boat include a swimming pool on the main deck and a generous size beach club.

The Sunseeker division, responsible for large yachts, has only recently been officially launched during the Monaco Yacht Show, which ended in late September . Sunseeker has built a total of 137 yachts over 100 feet since 2000.
