Last week on Lake Garda (Italy) finished the European Junior Championship in classes «Laser» and «Laser-Radial». Boys competed in «Laser» and girls in «Laser Radial» classes.
Russia's Maxim Nikolaev took silver in his category (under 19). He was second only to one rival - Henry Wetcherel from Great Britain.
Ekaterina Morgun, the best Russian female athlete, won the 17th place.
The number of participants was 167 men from 25 countries. Russia was represented by 5 boys and 2 girls.
The next big international regatta for our guys will be the World Junior Championship. It is scheduled for August this year and will take place off the French coast.
We shall remind you that last week junior sailing fans were pleased with the gold medal. Stefania Elfutina became the first at the World Championship in windsurfing RS:X class.
