Beneteau Group has become the owner of RecBoats, a company that designs and manufactures motor boats known under the Four Winns, Glastron, Wellcraft and Scarab brands. The deal was closed on June 24, 2014.
RecBoats is currently popular in the US: its 5 to 12m vessels account for 40% of the country's powerboat market, with annual revenues reaching $150m.
The new owner plans to promote the yard's products on the European and global markets.
The Beneteau Group is a company that manufactures watercraft and operates under the Jeanneau, Beneteau, Lagoon, Prestige, Monte Carlo Yachts and CNB brands. In 2012-2013, the manufacturer generated total sales of €815.4 million.
