Major European shipyards are concerned about the economic situation in Russia. According to Forbes, citing CNBC TV channel, top-managers of the manufacturers are sure that ruble devaluation will damage the industry.

Particularly Peter Lürssen, CEO of Lürssen Yachts, is of the opinion that in 2015 the situation at the superyacht market will become more difficult. It will be connected with the fact that people having income in rubles will have to pay twice as much for their yachts, which will make them reduce their consumption or choose less expensive models.

Moreover, the weakening ruble exchange rate is felt by the industry even now. According to Y. CO Gary Wright, several major projects are on the verge of disruption. The businessman stresses that Russia is an important market, and therefore it is desirable that the country's economy is on the rise.

Let us remind, that the superyacht industry suffered a lot from the crisis of 2008 and according to forecasts, was supposed to recover in 2015. Now, due to the unstable situation in Eastern Europe, the market growth slowed down again, Forbes reports.
