The Southern Ocean welcomes the participants of the Volvo Ocean Race round-the-world regatta with traditional hospitality. The crews have reached the "furious fifties" and turned eastwards, taking a course for Cape Horn. "The kings" of the current "pool party" are the Dongfeng crew, they lead the fleet for the moment. Though, everything may change, as it happened more than once during the last 24 hours: MAPFRE is tailing Dongfeng and Vestas and Brunel are following it with the leader having 5 miles separating the latter from the leader. It's a fight to the death: the winner of the stage will get double points, and the first boat to round Cape Horn will get an extra bonus point.
