The 80m Excellence, formerly known as Project 6505, has been unveiled at the Abeking & Rasmussen yard in Lemwerder in Germany after a brief respite from hull construction which has allowed SuperYacht Times to make some impressive photo opportunities.
The steel hull of Excellence - which translates as «Excellence»- was made at the shipyard in Szczecin, Poland . She is builton the sameplatform as the 81m Grace (ex Kibo). The project moved to Germany in February 2018.
British studio Winch Design was responsible for the exterior and interiors, managing to surprise with non-trivial moves.
An interesting design solution is the continuous glazing, which blurs the boundaries between the two upper decks.
This huge superyacht for 14 guests is the sixth largest vessel designed by Germany's Abeking & Rasmussen. It is reportedly ordered by an experienced owner. He will get it by the beginning of the summer season. Meanwhile it should be noted that the last launch of a boat from Abeking & Rasmussen with a length of more than 70 meters was in 2018 - it was the 75-meter Elandess.
