Two Russians are among the winners of the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image

An unusual photo from the national regatta in class 505 brought international recognition to German photographer Sören Hese. Sören "used the concept of time motion visualization" by gluing a series of shots taken from a drone.

To make this shot, Dmitry Sharomov asked the captain to change course. The photo has a small defect: during the shooting the lens got a drop of water, which, fortunately, is not visible on the dark surface of water.

To make this shot, which won third place in the Mirabaud competition, Sander van der Bork was helped by too strong wind and postponed because of it until late afternoon catamaran race GC32. The setting sun provided a spectacular backdrop lighting.

The Yacht Racing Forum participants gave the victory to Tomas Moya. The girls, new to the 420 class, tried to straighten an upside-down boat for 15 minutes when this shot was taken. In the end, the lightweight athletes managed to do what they had planned.

Christina Balzells from the photo of a 470 class yacht, which was hoisted by a gust of wind on the crest of a high wave - third prize according to the Yacht Racing Forum. The 2nd place was given to the already mentioned photo of Sander van der Borck.

The award went to the public with a photo of Zita Kovács capturing an 18-foot Scythian on Lake Balaton, which received the most "like" marks on Facebook.

In second place in the number of likes is Max Ranchi with a shot taken during the TP52 Super Series. A good wave concealed part of the boat, making it look as if one of the crew members was kneeling in the water.

Elena Otekina from the photo of Team Provezza during the Rolex TP52 World Cup, literally entering the canvas of Team Sorcha black sails that covered the entire background, became the 3rd finalist of the Mirabaud spectator voting.

The results of the international Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image sailing photography competition have been announced. Out of 134 entries from 24 countries, the jury has selected one photographer to win the main award. A special award was given to the author of the best photograph chosen by the visitors of the Yacht Racing Forum. Another prize was awarded to the photographer who received the most "likes" on Facebook. In addition to the three winning entries we also included the second and third place winners as judged by the jury, forum participants and the public.
