Holland Jachtbouw Carl Linne Overview
This yacht was inspired, in a way, by the resurgence of the classic J-class racing yachts, after which both designers and clients wanted to try to realize classic designs with modern materials and technology. And that's exactly what the Carl Linne is, a yacht in the shape and outline of the classic Bristol pilothouse cutter. But only externally. To improve the performance (and simultaneously to make the boat more accessible in shallow bays), she is fitted with a highly effective lifting keel. Named after the eminent 18th century biologist Carl Linnaeus, who participated in many ocean voyages, including that of James Cook. True to her name, the yacht embarked on a long voyage around the world shortly after her launch. An unusual feature of the boat - despite its classic armament and considerable size, all maneuvers and sailing operations can be performed by only two people.
