Alfa Romeo is the common name of a family of sailing racing yachts (three in total) commissioned by New Zealand yachtsman Neville Creighton, an Alfa Romeo dealer in Australia and New Zealand. All of his yachts are outstanding designs, but the Alfa Romeo II stands out even among them. It is one of the most technically advanced monohull sailing boats. It has a very large relative length (ratio of length by HLC to the root cubic of displacement) and power-to-weight ratio (ratio of square root of sail area to the root cubic of displacement), both parameters of which Alfa Romeo II was the best in the world at the time of its construction. This automatically implies that the Alfa Romeo II is the fastest monohull yacht in the world. Her extraordinary interior and her extraordinary amount of electronics (a lot of equipment is turned on automatically by PLCs - special microcontrollers) are highly appreciated as well.
