Vitters Shipyard Marie Overview
The Marie is a 180-foot classic ketch - living proof of the successful combination of classic lines and modern technology. The traditional contours have been optimized using the latest computer simulation tools, and the results have been tested in the test pool and wind tunnel. The result: already in her first outing she was able to reach a speed of a full knot above the true wind speed. The systems of the yacht are controlled by a elaborate network of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) capable of independently carrying out more than 600 operations on board. On board are a unique collection of antiques, including a Baby Grand Steinway grand piano, around which the boat's central saloon was designed. Interesting is the use of Enagro wood, a rare type of wood on a yacht with a particular light color. This gives a feeling of air and space, maintaining the traditional atmosphere of a classic sailing yacht.
