Two policemen and three women from the UAE will spend a year in prison before being forced to leave their country over a yacht party. A court has ruled that the young men consumed alcohol and «had sexual intercourse outside of marriage» on a boat in Dubai waters. Another 23 members of the ill-fated party will pay fines of 2,000 dirhams (just over $500).
The party was held on October 10, 2014. It was organized by the participants themselves: two men who worked in law enforcement agencies rented boats in their spare time to indulge in love and binge drinking there, according to a police report.
Thirteen women and 15 men between the ages of 20 and 43 (all from the UAE, Morocco, Yemen and Saudi Arabia) were detained on the boat and over a hundred bottles of unlicensed alcohol were seized during the raid.
