Russian-French crew wins Line Honours at Round Antigua Race 2015

Antigua Sailing Week is an annual race around the island of Antigua, the Round Antigua Race. It is a standalone event that attracts competitors from all over the world who want to do a dynamic sprint and cover around 50 nautical miles.

This year, as part of the race, luck smiled on a Russian-French crew on the 100-foot Nomad IV. The crew consisting of Vladimir Silkin (Russian Yachting Federation President), Anatoly Karachinsky (President of yachting club «PIRogovo»), Leonid Makaron, Leonid Altukhov, Oleg Evdokimenko, Igor Lukashov, Vladimir Kulinichenko and Damien Yale won Line Honours and Yachting World Trophy.

The crew took 5 hours and 59 minutes to complete the course, the best result among the monohulls.

Phaedo 3 was the fastest of all the trimaran boats, crossing the course in a record 3 hours and 26 minutes to win the race.

This year Antigua Sailing Week is celebrating its 45th anniversary and takes place from April 25 to May 1.
