The British have once again decided to bring back the America's Cup «»

Team Great Britain has officially announced its bid for the 35th America's Cup «». To celebrate, a formal reception was held at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich this afternoon .

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middletonwas the chief guest of honour at the event.

As we recall, the Duchess has recently become passionate about «sailing» and even took part in amateur races with «America's Cup competitors», in which she beat her husband, Prince William.

In addition to her, support «the» Challenger was provided by former Duran Duran lead singer Simon Le Bon and Andrew Nevy, Red Bull Formula 1 chief designer (he will be working with Ban Ainsley Racing on preparations for the Cup).

«The America's Cup is the only sporting award with a great history that hasn't gone to Great Britain. I have always dreamed of winning it for my country. It's a really good time to do that and I'm very pleased to have the support of»," said arguably the most decorated sailor of the day, Sir Ben Ainslie, skipper of the British team that competed for the Americans last year.

«I have learned a lot from my time with the Oracle crew and I would not have entered if I did not feel confident that I could win this time too».

Hopefully Sir Ben Ainslie will eventually succeed in returning «The Old Decanter» to its historic homeland. As a reminder, in the 160 year history of the regatta and 16 attempts, the British have never succeeded.
