A woman has gone missing in the waters off the coast of South Africa.

According to press reports, Carly Hill, 58, was on the yacht Oryx with her husband. However, on Friday, June 19, the woman was left on deck alone while her companion lay down to rest. When 65-year-old Peter Hill woke up, he could not find his wife on board. The man immediately turned the vessel back and tried the course he had just taken, but he could not find his wife and alerted the Coast Guard to the incident.

Helicopters and rescue boats were involved in the search. The operation continued until June 21, now the search has been terminated, as the chances of finding the allegedly fallen overboard alive have dropped to almost zero - the woman was without a life jacket.

The couple were travelling from Durban, South Africa, to Madagascar, with a planned journey of 1,200 nautical miles.
