Tropical Storm «Arthur», which passed through North America, destroyed the Charlottetown Yacht Club. The storm sank three yachts, damaged the docks and marina, and tore several boats from their anchors. The boats swayed on the strong waves and bumped into each other. As a result almost all boats had their hulls damaged, and some lost their masts.

Owners had been warned in advance of the storm, but «Arthur» came so unexpectedly that many boaters who arrived in the harbour could only watch as the elements tore down their property.

Rescuers are now working in the areas where the storm passed, trying to clear the area and assess the damage.

«Arthur» is a tropical cyclone that formed in the Atlantic Ocean. It made landfall in Canada and the United States last weekend. As a result of this natural disaster, over 250 thousand people were left without electricity and hundreds of trees were fallen. Wind speed in the epicentre of the hurricane reached 139 km/h.
