Vladivostok will host the region's first robot yacht regatta. Local mass media report that the competition will take place on September 13 on Yunost lake.
Schoolchildren, students and young scientists will take part in the competition. They are to modernize and automate their sailing ships and demonstrate their capabilities to the public.
It should be noted that robot yachts are not made in the natural size and are some kind of scaled-down models of real racing ships. The vessels will be radio-controlled, each team has to reinterpret the model provided by the organizer in their own way.
In addition to the robot boat race, the event will include a demonstration of underwater robots' capabilities.
