In Santander, Spain, the World Championships in Olympic yachting classes have come to an end. About half of the licenses to the Olympic Games to be held in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)were drawn during the competition.
Among the Russians awarded with permits are Pavel Sozykin and Denis Gribanov, competing in 470 class, Alisa Kirilyuk and Ludmila Dmitrieva, also well in 470 class, Stefania Elfutina ( RS:X class) and Maxim Oberenko (also RS:X class).
International Sailing Federation World Championship in Olympic sailing classes was held from 12 till 22 September and was attended by more than 1250 athletes from 83 countries.
For those who did not manage to win a license, there is still a chance to get to the Games: next year tickets will be drawn at the continental competitions.
