The sailing ship «St. Peter», which struck rocks near one of the Ionian Islands, did not survive the storm. The ship «was torn apart».

The ship hit the rocks back in October, but the incident only gained wide publicity after the Greek side refused to evacuate the ship for free. The crew of the ship tried to collect €26 thousand with their own efforts and with help of not indifferent Internet users, but they could not collect the necessary sum before the storm broke out.

«Saint Peter Metropolitan of Moscow» is a wooden three-masted vessel, a replica of a Pomeranian monastery boat of the 18th century. The sailing boat was built in 2002, and since then it has been engaged in cultural and educational activities.
