The Miami Yacht Show saw the American premiere of Sanlorenzo SL86, the motor yacht first shown at the Cannes Yacht Show last autumn.

The SL86 is a 26.76m (86ft) GRP planing yacht. She has been designed by Officina Italiana Design, which was tasked with optimising space while retaining Sanlorenzo's signature style.

The main objective of the modernization was to optimize and expand all spaces and fill them with natural light.

» The SL86 has adopted features that will be standard across the entire planing range: the forward part of the deck has become «a living space with sofas, table, sun pads and a foldable sun awning. The midship line has been recessed to allow guests to enjoy the light and view from the large windows while seated on the saloon sofa.

The new SL86 has a cabin length of 9m (2.5m longer than the previous SL82), and the interior is much wider and lighter, introducing some freshness, but without sacrificing the already familiar quiet style of the Sanlorenzo.

The SL86 has one of the largest flybridge areas in its class at 41 square metres.

The bases of the steps and staircase balusters leading from the salon to the flybridge are made of thick tempered glass, which gives the sensation of the stairs floating in the air.

The SL86 has a maximum speed of 28 to 31 knots (depending on engine power) with a cruising speed of 23 to 26 knots.
