The RS:X World Championship kicks off on 22 February in Eilat, Israel. It is one of the last major competitions before the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Russia is represented by 8 racers: world champion 2006 Maxim Oberemko, a participant of 4 Olympic Games Olga Maslivets, twice world champion among juniors Stephania Elfutina, silver medallists of Youth Olympics Mariam Sekhposyan and Maxim Tokarev, winners and prize-winners of youth regattas Andrey Zagainov, Artem Muraschev and Evgeny Aivazyan.

The weather during the adaptation training camp was windless. There were only north and southwest winds. At the beginning of the regatta we predict a strong northerly wind (this is the main direction of wind in Eilat). The air and water temperatures are comfortable.

As we would remind, Russians took licenses in men and women RS:X, though everything is not clear yet with men's license. We are waiting for IOC's decision (it was won by an experienced athlete from Crimea Maxim Oberemko), and for women junior Stefania Elfutina earned our country license at World Integrated Championship in Santander 2014, and today she is gaining momentum and getting ready for the Games 2016.
