Yachtswomen Hannah Mills and Saskia Clarke were victims of an armed attack. The girls, who were preparing to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games on the territory of Rio de Janeiro, were attacked by unknown assailants on Wednesday evening. It was revealed on social media: the athletes themselves reported the incident.

«Our walk after practice at the yacht club turned into a nightmare. Two young men with knives ran up to us and at gunpoint demanded to give us everything we had," the victims said. They even stole our tracksuits, along with things that were really worth something. Unbelievable!»

Fortunately, the girls were not injured during the attack. However, the issue of yachtsmen safety during the Summer Olympics is as acute as the pollution of coastal waters - Rio is an extremely problematic city both in terms of environment and crime.

Hannah Mills and Saskia Clarke compete in the 470 class. They won a silver medal at the London Olympics and a bronze medal at this year's World Championships.
