According to the decision of the regional court at the yacht club «Sail», classes have ceased since February. The court ruled to demolish the yacht club building, boathouses and workshops.

Yachtsmen supported by the All-Russian Sailing Federation opposed the actions of the authorities. A petition demanding to save the city's only yacht club gathered over three thousand signatures.

The Krasnodar administration postponed the demolition of the yacht club «Sail», but gave no guarantee that the sailing base will be preserved.

«Unfortunately, the land is not ours. If it were municipal, there would be no problems», - said Svetlana Krivoruchko, head of Physical Culture and Sports Department of Krasnodar Administration.

The yacht club «Parus» has existed since 1982 on the territory of Krasnodar water storage basin.

«The land for the construction of the yacht club was officially allocated by the executive committee of the Krasnodar municipal council of people's deputies, but in some time», according to the press-release of the Russian Yachting Federation, it was transferred from the municipal property to the federal one.

In 2007 the court recognized the yacht club as an unauthorized construction. The buildings of the base were not privatized. In 2011, the Federal Property Management Agency filed a lawsuit against the Yacht Club demanding the release of illegally occupied federal land, and won the case. «At the time of closure, more than 120 children were engaged in yachting at». The Russian national team included 5 athletes from the «Parus yacht club» and the Krasnodar Territory national team included 20 children from the «Parus» yacht club.
