According to the British press, Jacob Nicholl, a member of the crew of the yacht Kibo, snapped and fell from the side of the 265-foot vessel while cleaning it. The 22-year-old Briton hit his head during the fall. He spent several minutes in the water, during which time he was carried more than a hundred feet away from the boat. Fortunately, the boat's captain noticed him and managed to pull him out of the water in time. The man was unconscious.
Nicolle was taken to a hospital on the island of Mallorca, where the boat was located. «At the moment the patient is in a vegetative state» for about a week, doctors cannot give a precise prognosis.
The 265-foot Kibo yacht belongs to Russian billionaire Alexander Mamut. The boat was delivered to the owner in June 2014.
