The Basmanny Court took up Olga Sechina's lawsuit against «Novaya Gazeta» over the article «The Secret «Princess Olga», in which the plaintiff was attributed ownership of the 85.6-metre megayacht St Princess Olga.

Olga Sechina filed a suit to protect her honor and dignity on August 15. She claimed that the publication in «Novaya Gazeta» violated her right to privacy. The Basmanny court left Sechina's suit unmoved due to errors contained in the statement. The claim was accepted for consideration after the plaintiff corrected the inaccuracies.

A Novaya Gazeta article «» titled «The Secret of "Princess Olga"» claims that Olga Sechina (maiden name Rozhkova) is the wife of Rosneft head Igor Sechin. Journalists found Sechina's Instagram account and found many photos from her vacation aboard the yacht. According to external signs, the yacht turned out to be similar to the St. Princess Olga, an 85.6-meter vessel worth more than $100 million launched by Oceanco Shipyard in 2013. The geotags of the six photos posted on the Internet matched those of geolocation services that determine the location of the yachts using AIS data.

Rosneft's press service «» described the publication as part of a custom-made campaign against the company and its head.
