A yacht was thrown onto the rocky shore of the DVIMU beach in the Far East region. The boat named Carrera got a breach and got stuck in the rocks, newsvl.ru website writes. The incident occurred on September 10 at about 2 pm local time.
The crew of the boat participated in «Peter the Great Bay Cup». The crew, led by captain Sergei Belyaev, had a successful day, but after the finish they could not set the sails in time. The engine failed, and the yacht was blasted against the rocks, where the boat was punctured and stuck tightly.
According to the organizers the wind was strong today with gusts up to 40 knots, so instead of a long race today it was decided to give a short one. All other boats were safely moored.
«Peter the Great Bay Cup» is held from September 3 to 14. According to the race rules boats in the class «Cruising yacht 6,72 m» and cruising yachts of different types from 25 to 56 feet take part in the race.
