The third day of the Russian Championship in Olympic sailing classes ended in Sochi with 195 strongest athletes from 19 regions of the country fighting for the titles of Russian champions.

Contrary to the fears, Sochi was delighted with the racing weather: yachtsmen competed in a steady wind of 8 to 14 knots, bright sunshine and high waves. These conditions allowed for maximum number of races and catching up on the first, calm day of the regatta.

The new day brought significant changes in the preliminary results table.

The speed classes were not without drama: the 49ers turned over three times. The Nakra 17 did not escape this fate either.

In the Olympic catamaran division the competition between the crews of Maxim Semenov/AlinaShchetinkina and Sergey Dzhienbaev/DaryaIvanova continues: at the moment the team from Togliatti is ahead, but the Russian champions of 2015 are only three points behind. Vyacheslav Sheludyakov and Kristina Sulima round out the top three.

In the fleet of men's Scythians the first is still the crew of Jan Cech and Ivan Zotov. Denis Cheglov and Pavel Karachev are second, while Konstantin Nosov and Alexander Gaidayenko are third.

Anastasia Guseva/YanaStokolesova are the confident winners of the 49th FX. Olga Knipovich and Angelina Markova are second at the moment, Zoya Novikova and Diana Sabirova are third.

No intrigue in the Laser class: Sergey Komissarov is leading the fleet with five points. Eduard Skornyakov is second, Kirill Efimievsky is second.
Elena Vorobieva also maintains her position in the women's Laser Radial, remaining first. Ekaterina Zyuzina is on the second place, she is followed by Ekaterina Morgun.

The crews of Pavel Sozykin/DenisGribanov and Alisa Kirilyuk/LudmilaDmitrieva are unequalled in Class 470. Men won all six races, and girls are third in the overall standings, leaving behind 19 opponents.

The situation hasn't changed in women's RS:X. Stefania Elfutina is first, Mariam Sekposyan is second and Angela Poludarova is third.
Men's leader has changed. In today's competition Evgeny Ayvazyan lost the top spot to Alexander Askerov, who won the last two races.
