The first superyacht to leave the slipways of the Turkish AES Yacht yard will be the 68m Explorer Days. Construction of the boat has started in Istanbul and is due for completion in 2018.

AES Yacht first unveiled the design for the four-deck steel expedition vessel at the Monaco Yacht Show last month. Turkish firm Endaze Marine Engineering is responsible for the naval architecture of Days. The exterior and interior was made by the specialists of Hot Lab Yacht & Design.

She has 6 cabins for 12 guests including a master suite located on the upper deck and 18 crew cabins on the lower deck with the captain's cabin on the bridge deck. The interiors are designed in a minimalist manner with the use of noble woods.

High ceilings of 2.7m on all decks allow for a large interior volume of 1800 BRT.

The garage accommodates a 9-metre guest tender and an 8-metre crew tender. Two 2,000 hp Caterpillar 3516 diesel engines will provide the boat with a top speed of 17 hp and at a cruising speed of 14 knots will guarantee the longest range of 5,000 miles.

AES Yacht plans to launch an entire line of expedition yachts under the Ice Yachts brand ranging in length from 65 to 75 meters.
