Fort Lauderdale launches boat show

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show kicks off in Florida on November 5.

It is the largest boat show in the world. This year more than a thousand companies from 30 countries will exhibit almost 1500 boats valued at more than $4 billion on 3 million square meters of exhibition space and it is expected that more than 100 thousand people will attend the boat show.

Participating boats continue to arrive in Fort Lauderdale all day today. For example, the 63-meter superyacht Meridian by ICON Yachts:

The largest on display at the 56th edition of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show is the 94-meter Kismet, built in 2014 by Lurssen Shipyard. However she is not for sale, so the title of the most expensive boat at the show goes to another child of German shipbuilders, 76-meter Northern Star. It is available for $110 million.

This year for the first time in Fort Lauderdale, there is a separate section for catamarans, which before were scattered all over the area of the boat show. Approximately twenty power and sail multihulls ranging in length from 11m to 30m will be housed in Pier 66 Marina.
