The Mini Transat single race started on September 19 from Douarnenez, France to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. The race consisted of two stages: Duarneneuil - Lanzarote and Lanzarote - Pointe-à-Pitre. The first to cross the finish line was Frederic Denis. He won the Mini Transat in the prototype division. Frederick covered 3,230.8 nautical miles (455 miles more than the theoretical distance) at an average speed of 10.52 knots.

Two days later, Julien Pulvet arrived in Guadeloupe on a Mini 6.50 series. He managed to win the second stage of the race, but he only finished fourth in the first stage, so the overall victory in the series division went not to him, but to Jan Lipinski, who came to Guadeloupe nine hours late. Lipinski was the leader of the first stage race, which combined with a second place in the second stage guaranteed him the victory.

The only Russian taking part in Mini Transat, Yuri Firsov, is now in 42nd place. He is 741 miles away from the finish line.
