Italian shipyard Otam, famous for its high-speed boats of Open class, has launched its first custom aluminium superyacht Gipsy (project SD35).

This 35m long and 7.8m wide tri-deck yacht, custom-built by an Italian owner, will be officially launched at the forthcoming Monaco Boat Show.

The new Otam SD35 has also opened up a lot of customisation possibilities for her owner thanks to the use of aluminium.

Her interior and exterior have been designed by Tommaso Spadolini. The interior and exterior styling of the Gipsy have been designed by Tommaso Spadogni. The displacement is a category-high 295 tonnes, which translates into a very large interior volume.

The layout of the Gipsy has been designed with the owner in mind. The main deck is designed for daily use by guests, for relaxation or business events. There is a 40 m² saloon with a cinema and a full-beam dining room, as well as a galley and a spacious pantry with a separate crew area. Bathroom facilities are located on each deck so that guests do not have to return to their quarters.

On the lower deck there are four VIP suites with ensuite bathrooms and a crew cabin.

The upper deck is entirely dedicated to the owner, who has a sumptuous suite with panoramic views.

Like all Otams, the SD35 has a very aggressive nature.

The Umberto Tagliavini studio, which has long collaborated with the shipyard in the field of naval architecture, has designed an efficient, semi-displacement hull that will allow the yacht to reach speeds of up to 20 knots. At 11 knots, she will have a range of 2,000 nautical miles.

During the design of the Otam SD35, special attention was paid to the vessel's draft. She has been minimized for travel in shallow, inaccessible bays in the US and Caribbean.
