37-metre superyacht Fusion caught sinking off the coast of Ibiza

Video of Peri Yachts 37-meter yacht Fusion sinking off the coast of Ibiza appeared in social networks. The footage shows the vessel gaining water in the stern with its transom heavily lowered. There are no visible signs of damage to the superstructure.

According to local news agency Diario de Ibiza eight people were rescued from the ship in distress. The captain and two crew members remained on board and along with four divers tried to keep the vessel afloat. Whether their attempts were successful was not reported.

Fusion is a planing yacht launched in 2012. Scaro Design is responsible for her exterior and interior. She accommodates ten guests and seven crew members in staterooms. The yacht has an interior volume of 280 BRT. Two MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines will propel Fusion to 25 knots.

Earlier this week another incident was reported off the coast of Ibiza: a tender rammed a superyacht.
