Andy Badgen on Mach2 class yacht Moth rounded the island of Barbados in a record 4 hours 23 minutes and 18 seconds.

The yachtsman took line honors in the 60-mile Mount Gay Round Barbados Race and set the all-time record for single-hulled hydrofoils. Badgen also managed to break the personal record he set a few years ago on the VO70 Monster Project.

«By the time I got to East Point there was a slight ripple in the sea. Then the wind died down to a critical point for me. There's also a reef there, I didn't notice it until I drove into it! The descent down the east side was great. I tipped over a couple of times when I thought for a second about something else, but still in 10 knots of breeze - perfect for foiling - it only took me about an hour and a quarter to get down from East Point. So it was a really nice day»," commented Budgen after the finish.

Apart from Badgen, only one yachtsman has set an all-time record at this year's Mount Gay Round Barbados Race. German Andreas Ber g on Dufour 44 Luna sailed the course in 8 hours, 7 minutes and 31 seconds, 1 hour and 39 minutes ahead of the previous best single-hulled time.
