The fourth stage of Sochi Winter Cup series by PROyachting was held from February 3 to 5. Nine teams from Moscow, Sochi and Krasnodar took part in the race. The regatta was held on GP 26 monotype yachts and was hosted by the yacht port «Imeretinsky» built for 2014 Olympics.

The first training day of the Sochi Winter Cup went well - good wind 4-6 m/s, sun, interesting competitors. In total there were two races.

The crews had to consider a strong current and cope with the wave that is typical of this area.

According to the regular participants of the Sochi Winter Cup, racing became even more interesting - the fleet has just renewed sails, the boats became much more sensitive to the crews' actions, which, of course, added to the racing drive.

Excellent conditions prevailed on Saturday: the organizers held three races in the south-east wind of 5-7 meters per second and a half-meter wave.

The undisputed leader of the day was No Pasaran (parishes 1-2-1), taking part in competitions in Sochi for the first time.

Close to the leader was M1 Cloud (2-1-2), and the team from the resort area «Imeretinsky» (5-4-3) rounded out the top three.

«Great weather, wind, good distances - we had no time to relax, the races were energetic, athletic drive», - shared her impressions Olga Bakhvalova, a member of the Alex/Philips Team.

On Sunday, due to insufficient wind the races were cancelled, and Saturday's results were fixed in the final table.

«1-2-1 result doesn't mean that we were just lucky, - says Mikhail Loskov, captain of No Pasaran. - It's a team sport, and the winner is often the one who performs the maneuvers in a well-organized way, who knows how to work the turns».

No Pasaran is a well-established crew, practically two seasons on the water together, in 2016 the team won the Cup of the Moscow series of sailing races Tuesday Warm-Up Race from PROyachting.
