The world's largest superyacht, the 220-metre Quintessentially One, will be launched in 2019-2020.
Some of those five suites are as large as 100 square metres. They include a three-level suite spread over three of the ship's 11 decks. «The names of private investors in Quintessentially One will be kept secret until a bottle of champagne is broken on board the superyacht».
The remainder of the £200m donation came from major concierge services company Quintessentially, which will operate the yacht as a private club for the super-rich, offering worldwide cruises with stops at events including the Cannes Film Festival, Rio Carnival, Monaco Grand Prix and other favourite destinations.
Superyacht passengers will be treated to The Wolseley restaurant, swimming pool, spa, gym, nightclub and beach club. The interior volume of Quintessentially One will be 45,000 BRT. It will be serviced by a crew of 490 people.
According to Simpson, the idea of building its own yacht came to Quintessentially after the company encountered difficulties in meeting the demands of wealthy clients at popular events where they come from all over the world.
The only problem could be her length: at 220 metres in the Port of Monaco, as in many other popular yachting destinations, there simply would not be a big enough berth for her. The yacht would be forced to anchor offshore and its passengers would have to get to land on tenders.
