Competition announced for the position of the schooner reporter «Nadezhda»

St. Petersburg Yacht Club has announced an all-Russian student contest for the position of on-board correspondent for the project «Nadezhda Morei». Eight students from any Russian university will become crew members of the schooner «Nadezhda» and will go to the most prestigious international regatta of training sailing ships, The Tall Ships Races 2017.

The on-board reporters will be responsible for covering life on the big sailboat and its participation in the regatta, shooting photo reports and posting content on social media. In addition, students will be able to learn the basics of sailing and gain experience in setting sails, steering the schooner, plotting the course and racing. Sailing experience is not required.

Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years of age. English - above average level and valid passport and Schengen visa required.

The Tall Ships Races will be responsible for the costs of accommodation and membership fees for participation in the international Tall Ships Races. Participants pay only for transfer to the mooring place of the sailboat.

The applications for the position of media-crew are accepted till May 27th at 20.00. The candidates must fill in an application form and attach links to their published texts and videos in blogs, mass media or social networks. Also each contestant is to place a post in one of his/her social networks with the answer to the question why he/she should become an onboard reporter on the schooner «Nadezhda». It may be a text with up to 800 characters or a short 1-minute video. The post must include the hashtag #NadezhdaMorei.
