Heesen' s 47m Ruya has been sold to a US customer. The buyer was represented by Thom Conboy from Heesen Yachts USA. The yacht will spend the summer in the Mediterranean Sea and will make her debut at the Monaco and Fort Lauderdale Boat Shows in the autumn.

Project Ruya is Heesen's fifth 47-meter superyacht designed in collaboration with Bannenberg & Rowell.

«During the construction of the yachts in this series we have modified and optimised the process to make the most of the interior space.» For example, the huge saloon on the upper deck is much bigger than you would expect from a yacht of this size," said Mark Cavendish of Heesen.

Ruya's interiors, which can accommodate up to 12 passengers in five staterooms, were inspired by Galactica Star, 65 metres in length, which was also designed by Bannenberg & Rowell.

«We took the idea of motion as the basis of the interior concept for Project Ruya," said London design studio head Dickie Bannenberg, "so expect a sleek, masculine and fluid design with sporty high-tech finishes. The atmosphere will be fresh and light, while the themes of energy, direction and progress will unobtrusively be found in the patterns of textiles, carpets and graphics».

A distinctive feature of Project Ruya is the presence of a large 85-square-meter sandeck divided into a fitness area, dining area and relaxation area. In addition, the exterior designers at Omega Architects created an al-fresco dining area on the aft upper deck and couches aft and forward on the main deck, bringing the total outdoor deck space to 180 square metres.

Ruya's large swim platform is easily accessed through a hinged door in the transom. The same door is the garage door for the Yamaha Wave Runner 6.5m 3-meter jet ski tender.

Powered by two MTU 8V 4000 diesel engines with 1,341 hp, Ruya has an impressive range of 4,000 miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. Her steel hull with bow bulb and zero speed stabilizers provide maximum comfort in all sea conditions and when at anchor.
