The Russian youth team of the project «Standart» has opened fundraising for participation in the international regatta on captains' boats Atlantic Challenge. The regatta will start in August 2018 in Northern Ireland.

Just over 2 million rubles are needed to cover the cost of transporting the team and boats, as well as accommodation for the duration of the competition. Fundraising is open on the project website «Standart».

Russians have been participating in the Atlantic Challenge since 1988. Twice - in 2008 and 2016 - teams under the Russian flag became winners of this regatta, in which 16 countries compete.

The Captain's Boats were built in St. Petersburg with people's funds by volunteers of the «Standart project». They are light sailing and rowing boats which were widespread in the fleets of European countries in the 18th and 19th centuries. « Standart» is a non-governmental youth non-profit organization which builds replicas of historical sailing boats, trains sailors, and participates in international competitions.
